James, Mia, Katrina and Phil
And another one. <3
Here’s us, with James, doing drills. (pretty tiring!)
That’s me, Nikka and Mia. She’s so friendly!
Acting like a pro. (Doing the header) Hi Phil!
Hi James! <3
We really just had to let them sign our shirts.
Mia, I love you for sharing this experience with me. <3
1. A few months back, Clean and Clear launched this huge contest for all the BFF’s (Best Friends Forever) out there. My best friend, Mia, knew all about this contest and was hesitant in telling me to join with her. So, one day, she finally asked me about joining the contest about 3 weeks away from the deadline. We took some shots on the weekend and literally spent 8 hours together. (Just as what Clean and Clear says on the mechanics.) Of course, we had to directly upload it on their page and we jumped off our feet when they approved our Scrapbook the next day.
2. The next 2 weeks was the pain-in-the-butt part. We had to ask people, from close ones to unknown ones, to “like” our scrapbook. But the liking was too much of a hassle for them. They had to wait for the application to load and then they don’t know what to do next. We had to answer their questions regarding the “like” but most of them gave up. Then, the server went all glitzy and the “likes” wouldn’t even go up. And we’re stuck at 45.
3. We were worried for quite sometime but then they announced that the winners would be based on 100% of the judges’ decision. The announcing of the Top 5 nominees came and we screamed for joy when we saw our photos of hard work was displayed in the collage. And here, we started to expect things. Like, “OMG, If we win, I’m so gonna be…” etc. At first we were kinda worried how would our interview be, (since they were gonna interview us to get to know us better, in case I didn’t mention that.) we wondered if they were going to make us come to Manila (which by the way, 45 minutes by plane, away from my town) or will it be via call. Flying to Manila would be too expensive, of course we settled for a call.
4. During the interview, we just blunted out everything related to their question. The interviewer, Nikka, was NOT like the usual Ms. Im-a-God-cause-i-can-easily-turn-you-down type of interviewer. It was like we were having a talk to someone we just met, so carefree and friendly.
5. The day finally arrived when I got a text from them asking us if we were ready for a call. And there. in that instant, we knew we won! We were ecstatic when we knew about it. We, literally, screamed our lungs out and jumped around.
6. We flew to Manila, Friday night at 8pm, February 18th, and arrived at around 10pm. (Flight was delayed. :/) Perk picked us up at the airport and led us to our hotel. (Mandarin Oriental, Makati) As we entered the room, 2 clean and clear gift packs await us. (Yaaay for free stuffs!) We didn’t really sleep early, we couldn’t wait for the big day tomorrow.
7. The day finally came. (we still couldn’t believe it!) We had breakfast and lunch and then the driver picked us up on our hotel and brought us to Alabang Country Club, where the younghusbands are there, waiting for us. (Geez, can you believe that?) It was like a dream. Them, taking a picture with us, having drills and training us. The best thing is that, THEY KNOW OUR NAMES! :O (Yes, I could die now. lol, jk.)
8. The next day was the actual game. I was on Phil’s team and Mia was on James’s. They invited girls from BRENT, Ateneo and other schools. These girls weren’t just ordinary soccer players, they’re like really good! And for myself, who has not played soccer since 3rd grade, chickened the hell out of me when I was on the field. I did get to kick the ball and pretend Im a pro, but it’s too impossible to hit the goal. Girls here and there attacking you for the ball. (umm, okay! You can have the ball while I stay here watching James and Phil play. It’s better than the ball though.)
9. The experience was over-all great. It was just like what we imagined it to be. Talking to Phil and James is enough, but Clean and Clear gave us more. We met new friends, learned tons of lessons and lived an experience. I now have something to share to my granddaughters soon, when I grow old.
THANK YOU SO MUCH CLEAN AND CLEAR!
